Decide together what to cook

What should we cook today? When five people have five ideas, more back and forth in the chat won't help. Set the candidates, let everyone vote and cook what gets the most votes.

Why “What are we cooking?” is so tedious

Everyone has suggestions, nobody wants to impose, and the recipes are somewhere between screenshots and bookmarks. In the end, whoever gets annoyed first decides.

Five steps to a decision

  1. Put recipes in a list

Collect the dishes you'd consider in a shared list.

  2. Invite the group

One invite link is enough. A poll needs at least two members in the list.

  3. Start the poll

Set an end, optionally add a title like “Barbecue night”. All recipes in the list are up for election.

  4. Everyone votes

Pick one or more dishes. If you like, you'll get a notification when the poll starts, is about to end or has been decided.

  5. See the result

Once everyone has voted, the result is in immediately: a ranking with vote counts, your own vote highlighted.

How the poll decides

  • All recipes in the list are up for election; everyone picks one or more dishes.
  • The poll ends at the chosen date and time – or immediately once all members have voted.
  • Whoever started the poll can also close it early.
  • 30 minutes before the end, Pickeroni reminds everyone who hasn't voted yet. The reminder can be turned off.
  • While the poll is open, the others' votes appear by themselves, without reloading.

Requirements and limits

A poll needs at least one recipe and at least two members in the list. Only recipes from this list are up for election; there are no suggestions from outside. Everyone needs the app: Pickeroni is available for iPhone and Android, not in the browser. Joining and voting works without buying.

Questions about voting

Does everyone have to install the app?

Yes. To vote, each person joins the list via the invite link; that's free. Anyone without an account lands right back in the invitation after signing up.

What happens if someone doesn't vote?

30 minutes before the end, Pickeroni reminds everyone who's missing. The result is fixed at the chosen end at the latest – immediately if everyone has voted before then.

Can I vote for several dishes?

Yes. Everyone picks one or more dishes. The result shows all recipes as a ranking with vote counts, your own vote highlighted.

And then? Turn the winners into a meal plan and shopping list.

Pickeroni is free to start, then €4.99 once instead of a subscription. Anyone who's invited and votes doesn't have to buy anything. More about pricing.

Don't debate. Vote.
